Alaska! It’s Time to Cross it Off Your Travel Bucket List

Jamie Agamalian

Travel Advisor with Magical Wishes Travel

Alaska is HOT right now in the travel industry and rightly so! This travel destination is always a top bucket list item and travelers are starting to finally take the trip so they can cross it off. While cruising has always dominated Alaskan travel, land vacations are starting to see an uptick in bookings. In fact, many of my clients are starting to book land and sea options, so they can get the best of both!  jamie@MagicalWishesTravel.com

Cruises have always been a popular way to see Alaska. Cruising offers you the ability to have a floating hotel room. Since Alaska is such a large state, cruising allows travelers a chance to experience multiple ports, take in glaciers along the way, and see abundant amounts of wildlife along the journey. With multiple cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, and Disney dominating the field, there is a cruising vibe that will fit your family's needs. Each cruise line brings something different to the itinerary, so it’s important to match your personality to the cruise ship.

Contacting a dedicated travel advisor is helpful when it comes to picking the right cruise for your needs. We know these cruise lines and the itineraries very well and after asking the right questions can help narrow it down to your best option. We also know where the cruise lines depart from, which can be a game changer for many travelers. Some depart from Seattle, while others depart from Vancouver. There are more regulations involved with sailing from Canada, so it’s important to have these conversations with your travel advisor. There are cruises for every budget as well and your travel advisor will help you pick the right one for you.

Land vacations are a great option for travelers who have either cruises already or want a more adventurous trip. Visiting Anchorage is a great way to see Alaska more intimately. You can explore the lakes, take a train ride through the countryside, and visit Denali. Land vacations don’t have to happen just in the summer either. Alaska is open year-round and it might surprise you to learn that Anchorage has a more mild climate than one might expect. Temperatures can average the same as Philadelphia through the winter. Daylight might be more elusive in Anchorage during the winter months, but it is a great way to see the area. You also get a great show in the evening with the Northern Lights from September through April!

I have been booking many Alaska trips this year already and would love to help you book yours. I am offering a special travel incentive in January to anyone who books their 2025 Alaskan getaway. Cruise bookings will receive an additional $50 on-board credit to your stateroom on top of any credit eligible at booking. Land tour packages will receive a $100 trip credit!
